"I'm going to investigate!"

This morning we put these out for friends to explore. 

What are they? Have you seen them before? 

Friends had so many theories!

"I'm going to investigate what it is!"

"I think they're for Chipmunks, they take them off the tree and hide them for winter."
We then debated if a Squirrel is the same as a Chipmunk. We decided they're different.
"I think they're in the grass for the squirrels to eat. They're acorn shells!"

"I think they're walnuts!"

"I think they're seeds from something we've never seen before!"

Friends spent a lot of the morning building!

"It's a boat with a diving board!"

"This is our vroom vroom car!"

We took a trip to the front of the school to spark some of our friends memory!

"They're pumpkin flowers from Blue Room last year!"

"It's our pumpkin patch!"

Friends had a discussion when we got back inside....

"We can cook the seeds!"

"The flowers will turn into pumpkins. That's what fruits and vegetables do!"

Does broccoli?

"No, because that's a living plant; pumpkins aren't living plants!"

"You can use them to make pumpkin pie!"

How do you turn the pumpkins into pumpkin pie?

"Well, I don't know!"
