Work Together Wednesday

Yesterday we began a conversation about how we would hang our sky.
"We need to be able to change the weather."
"Maybe you could just climb up and change it everyday Ms. Alyssa."
"That sounds like a lot of work!"
"Well maybe it could be like a garage door that goes up and down?"
"How would we do that?"
"My grandma's garage door has a button, so maybe we need a button that changes the sky."
"Or maybe like a claw that picks up the things and puts it onto the ceiling!"
"Wait, I have a genius idea! We could hang rope and make it like a pulley!"
What better day to put these wonderful ideas into motion than Work Together Wednesday!
Working together can prove to be very challenging at times and today we saw some big ideas challenging each other. This is great though because that's how we learn to truly listen to each other!

We started by talking about care for our neighborhood and homes.
"They're a mess!"
"I think we should clean up first!"
"Yeah, there's stuff everywhere!"
"I'm really good at cleaning!"
Then we got to work hanging rope and our blue sky. Climbing to the ceiling makes it very hard to get pictures! Friends were excited to see their working being put into place and helped to hold the paper up as high as their arms could reach! We are now at a bit of a pause while we figure out how exactly to change it out.
"It hangs a little too low."
"Let's put it on top of the rope!"
"That's a great idea! It's perfect like that!"
"But now we can't change it."
"Well maybe it should just be sunny all the time!?"

We will continue to think this through but in the meantime, we took a walk to the top of the Forest!

"Let's use all these leaves to make a tree in our neighborhood!"
W thought it should be a gumball tree!
