Measuring Egg Time

In preparation for our chick eggs the children learned that it will take 21 days for the chicks to hatch. In hopes to receive the eggs tomorrow or Friday, they created a way to keep track of the days they will be in the incubator.

The group decided to use egg cartons and our pretend chicks. Eleanor counted the spaces to see if we had 21. She counted 18 so we needed to add 3 more.

Max cut the top off the egg carton.

Charlotte counted to make sure we had enough chicks to get to 21. Each day the eggs are in the incubator the children will add a chick until we get to 21.

Then the group wrote numbers in each spot.

We have our incubator and count ready!!
