Is Lettuce a Leaf?

Ava asked the class, "Is lettuce a leaf?" 

The class agreed that lettuce is a leaf.

"Basil is also a leaf " -Alex

A small group went to the kitchen atelier to plant in the seedling trays that have grow lights. They planted seeds that will grow into leaves that you can eat! They noticed most of these were herbs. Ask your child if they can remember what herbs the group planted! 

Ms.Katie also brought in a potato that began sprouting and showed the group how to plant the eyes. 

Next we need to make a chart of when the seeds germinate so we know when to turn on the grow light.
