Wishes Do Come True

Teachers are truly blessed to share in the lives of their students! It’s like being a school mom, aunt, grandma, etc. We love watching you grow from toddlers to independent learners and cry happy tears as we send you off to Kindergarten. Thank you to all of you for my wonderful gift. It’s so special that you made it and shared such nice thoughts. I wish you were all here so I could hug you but I know my birthday wish will come true and we’ll be back together soon💜

The Adventure Continues...

We loved seeing the friends that were able to make it on Zoom with us yesterday! We understand if you are unable to make the times and do not want anyone to feel obligated! This is for fun, not to add more stress! For the friends that joined us, (even though we may have looked a little silly) we hope that you have a small glimpse into the joy of our days.

If you weren't able to get on here are the links to the songs we shared...your children know what to do!

This is a Little Deal!

We want you to know that despite us learning from home, we are still together. This can be a really nice time to practice being the teacher at home! Looking at the pictures on our daily blog can help you think about your work at school and how you might do some of our favorite things right in your own home! If your siblings or grown-ups are busy, you could grab one or more of your lovies and teach them how to build a home, have a dance party, draw a picture or any other thing you'd like to teach. Mosty, have fun, be kind and remember that we will be back together very soon.

A little creativity and sticks became screw drivers and hammers.

G.B. mashed up some rice. What could you pretend mash or really mash to help with your family’s meal?

Z.R. enjoyed stacking then nesting smaller cups inside. J.L. announced she was making a rainbow.
These may look like boys…but upon further inquiry, they are dogs in the home they built themselves.

H.B. and A.L. added an adjacent home for themselves. Girls not dogs in this case:)

C.G. rode in this car to go to Florida.
J.B. was whipping up food for the long road trip.

“Who ya gonna call?” I.B. responded. “I’m calling for the medicine and then the police and fireman.” Unfortunately, the conversation stopped there but hopefully his emergency ended well!

Good thing W.G. was not in the doghouse for any other reason than wanting to be in his home-haha!

A few simply items, a little mess and learning transpires…
We CAN and WILL get through this together.

Go with the Flow

So...plans changed a little but Maple perseveres! The morning was still filled with warm welcomes and excitement for the upcoming week of pumpkin activities. Asked about what we should do with our pumpkins from Mr. Steve and Ms.Ginger, our friends decided to paint them, cover them with melted crayons, carve them and cook the seeds. Each child recounted their choice as Ms. Alyssa made a tally graph. We noticed that the choices were tied at two with four votes and two with five. To our surprise, even a pattern showed up...4/5/4/5!

We had also planned on taking a short walk to the mailbox to get our Thank You notes out to families for all the fabulous classroom gifts! Ms. Alyssa and Ms. Gayle accomplished the task for our friends.

Little Bird Eggies

Maple and Willow friends have been having Fun Friday outside together the last few weeks! Today Maple friends were excited to take their nest outside to share!
Be sure to check Willow's blog too to see our other explorations!

Our bird nest was a huge hit with our Willow friends!

Trying to decide our characters in this bird family and who would feed baby bird Z.R.

We welcomed our friends to our nest!

"These are my wings flapping."

We also shared a few of our library books to explore creating animal homes with wire and nature.
W.A. noticed something familiar in one of our new library books!

"This is a spider web. Will you help me hang it in the tree for the spiders?"

"I made a nest with little bird eggies and leaves for beds. I'll use this blue one."
"I'm putting my nest in the tree."

"I'm going to make this hamster wheel."

We still have many wonderings about birds...
"Let's go draw our predictions."
