Maple Mail

Friends were hard at work this morning building and investigating!
Guess what?!
You can now leave us Maple Mail!
After an incredible amount of research, planning, and constructing, our mailbox post is built!
We may still need to add our name and possibly do some painting; that hasn't been decided yet.
When building, friends have had many jobs. They take turns passing out screws, using the drill or saw, measuring, marking, holding the end of the wood, and there's always a photographer to capture pictures for the blog. Can I just tell you that my camera roll is filled with a LOT of unflattering pictures of me and small hands on a tool! Haha

We used the originally drawn plans for the layout. We put the legs on while the mailbox was resting on the floor. After friends determined that all of the pieces were complete and in the correct places. They excitedly shouted, "Let's stand it up!"
"Yeah, yeah, it's ready, stand it up!"
(Giddy giggles.)
(Shrieks.)
We began dancing and some running in chaos around the room
"Let's go put it outside!!"

Remember those crazy green things that we found at Larson yesterday?!
Some friends worked tirelessly to get them open.
"Maybe if I put it up high to throw it, it will break open." -N
After many tries and no success, other than some yucky juices, I stepped in to help. Friends gave me a countdown and I threw it down while standing on the bench.
"Ewwww!"
"I think it looks like broccoli."
"It reminds me of pineapple."
"I think it smells good!"
"I notice seeds!"
"We could plant them and care for them and give them water and sunshine and grow them into these and then do it all over again!" -E

After lunch we headed over to Bristol to check our mail and you won't believe what we found!
Mrs. Wiese's kindergarten class wrote us back! They found out that there are 434 students at Bristol.
We were excited to see that many of the names are friends that we know from Ambrose. Even an old Maple friend. The end of the letter read, "P.S How many kids are at Ambrose?"
"I wonder how we can find that out?"
"How many classrooms do we have? And how many kids are in a class?" -N
I don't know, it sounds like we have some research ahead of us!
Maybe they will be our new pen pals!
