A Seat in the Share Chair

We started our morning with a new kind of building!

 "We could build a fort!"

At our meeting, friends were ecstatic to receive more mail!
"We have mail!"
"There's a card AND a package!"
Again, thank you all for investing in our class and our mail study!
Our mail today came from New York and Wisconsin!
"That's the statue of liberty!"

More excitement ensued when it was time to take the share chair!

"This is a tiger shark!" -E

"Cat boy saves us from bad guys. I have Owlette at home too!" -W

"My aunt sent me this book in the mail!"
"My penguin bear is sooo snuggly!" -J
"We knew you would bring a train!" -all the friends:)
"We built this airplane at my house!" -O

"These are shells that I found in Florida and guess what?! This is from a crab!" -N

"It's a racecar and I put Batman on with a seatbelt!" -A

"I love Cat Boy!" -G

"Everest, my purple dog." -M

Yummy!

There was some intense building in Maple.

You almost reached the ceiling!

It was a brisk walk and playtime in the Forest today.
We needed to hurry back and warm up!

You can see by these huge smiles that the hot chocolate was a big hit😁

Future Architects

This morning, friends were eager to get started on their big plans from yesterday!
"Can I start on my house?" -N
"We need boxes first!"
"We could draw plans."
"What color is your house going to be?"
We got right to work thinking through windows, doors, and all the little details.

"This is my room and this is your room. You can live in my house with me!" -G

"Here's the chimney with smoke coming out of it. Maybe my house will be like a rocket ship. Do you see the wings?" -A

"I want the color black." -M

"I want my house to be made of bricks." -W

"I know I want my house to be purple and I want a lot of windows. I'm not exactly sure how it should look though. Can we look up some houses?" -N

"My house is orange and this is my family. I definitely need my family photo in my school house!" -J

"This is the chimney. There is a ladder to climb up and see things from up high and ropes on the side to get back down." -E

Busy Planning

It is simply amazing to watch young minds at work! Our class was discussing all the mail we were sending today when a conversation developed. “Our post office got really messy when we were writing inside it.” G. said, “You don’t open mail IN the post office!” To which O. replied, “You open mail in your house.” Well, that stimulated a lot of ideas for future plans!

 O.-“We need to make houses!”

N.-“We each need our own box house!”

How big will the boxes need to be when we ask for them?

E.-“100 ft. tall and 1000 ft. wide.”

We may need to look at measuring tools some more:)

J.-“We will need mailboxes. We can use small boxes and glue to put them on our houses.”

The class totally agreed that we’d need a mail truck.

So we counted. The first thought was we’d need nine boxes. After a second count, eleven boxes was the total. The teachers get to make a house too!

The next plan of the day was a walk down the street to mail our letters and request boxes from neighboring local businesses. Both Castlewood Design and Lemcke Appliances are always helpful in saving AND OFTEN delivering boxes. Our class is extremely creative so be sure to stay tuned after Winter Break to watch our Community expand!

Who wrote us this Mystery Message?

E. to N.-“Would you like this last beautiful leaf of the season?”
Do I hear an Awwww?

A short walk around the block proved tiring after our long one yesterday. Yet another plan bubbled up when we noticed the rocks from the landing pad of the cave were ebbing ever outward. Energetic once again, it was easy to drag them back to the bottom of the cave.
