Smoothies!

Last week at lunch we had strawberries. There were a lot left over so we saved them to make smoothies!

 "What other ingredients do we need for a smoothie?"

"Milk!" 

"Ice!"

We also added blueberries.

 When we got back to the room we tasted our smoothies and shared with our friends.

"These are so yummy!"

"I think it would be better with yogurt and bananas."

"I like them better like this."

"I'm like a sewing machine!"

Yesterday we offered weaving as a morning invitation and a lot of friends were excited about it! 

"Can you put this on the computer so my mom can see it?"

Today we did some more weaving on our own section of fabric creating different stitches and designs. "This is the best thing I've ever done!" "Yeah, me too!"

"I'm like a sewing machine!"

 "I made a purse!"

Collecting and Climbing

A little rain didn't keep us away from the Forest this morning! As always, friends did a lot of collecting and climbing!

 "I notice that this stick is a little different because of this part hanging right here. Can we take it back to our collection?"

 Friends found a lot of really tall sticks! 

Where are all the wormies?

This morning a group of friends did an experiment with our "wormies". The table was covered with half dry paper towels and half wet paper towels. 

"Let's test it out! We can put one on each side."

They began to whisper to each other as if the worms could hear their ideas.

"The one on the dry part isn't moving."

"I have a hypothesis... The dry one doesn't like it because it might die. They don't like the dry."

They traveled back over to the bin with all of the worms and noticed that some of them trying to escape! 

"Maybe they don't like it at our school."

"Feel the dirt! They're trying to get out because it's too dry. We haven't sprayed them in awhile."

Meanwhile, other friends were outside searching for bugs. 

"Before when we were finding bugs I was wearing shorts and a shirt with no shirt underneath."

"I think they're underground hiding from the cold earth."

"I think they're in hibernation."

Ms. Akeba's Birthday!

Today we celebrated an extra special birthday...Ms. Akeba's!

Friends have been working on a top secret book that ended up not being much of a secret...imagine that!:) We gave her the book and sang happy birthday then of course we had to have a dance party! While making Ms. Akeba's book, many friends expressed the importance of Ms. Akeba painting a birthday canvas and eating her favorite, chocolate chip cookies! Friends were so excited to help Ms. Akeba with her birthday canvas that she maybe got two brush strokes in tops haha! After rest we will share the sweet treat with her! We love you Ms. Akeba!
