Cucumbers
Today we tried cucumbers after tasting cucumber water at the planter meeting yesterday. There was a healthy debate today about the difference between skin and peels! Here are some of their thoughts about cucumbers.
Topher- "We need to take the seeds out and plant them so we can have a cucumber tree."
Maggie- "My favorite part of the cucumber is the middle where the seeds are."
Blakely- "The inside is soft but the outside is crunchy."
Elise- "We eat these at home."
Brynn- "I just like the middles not the skin."
Oatmeal
This week we explored with oatmeal in the sensory table. They pretended to cook oatmeal, cookies, and make smoothies! Toward the end of the week we added water to the sensory table. This changed the look and texture of the oatmeal. Some thought it reminded them of dough!

Planter Meeting
Last week some of the families came to a meeting after school with the teachers. We talked about ways to start helping the children work on their planter idea. We brought to them the children's ideas and shared the planter should be one Charlotte tall. The families decided to meet with the class to share their thoughts and ideas on the planter.
Today the families came in to talk to the class about their ideas for the planter. We first danced to a song called "I Like Being A Kid."
Then it was time to get down to business. We talked about things plants need to make them happy and things that make them sad. We know now depending on what we want to grow the design of the planter may have to change. They showed us planter designs on the iPad that now have us wondering if a pop of color is needed. We have a lot of decisions to make.
Thank you so much for coming!!!
