3D Printer Planter

Today we watched our planter design get built on the 3D Printer! 

We learned that the material is called filament. It's plastic made from corn!! But it's not corn you can eat. 

Our design got taller. 

Here are the pieces of our planter model. We will glue them together this week and then we will have our model to reference when we start to build.

The children worked with the tools in the atelier to practice before building our planter! 

Seed Weeds

Today we talked about weeds that hold seeds. We see a lot of these in our garden and the children thought they were raspberries. The children looked closely at these weeds and opened some of the pods to see the seeds. 

After representing the weeds, we went out to pull the weeds in the garden. 

We found a different kind of weed to represent and look for next week!
