Celebrating Xavien

Xaiven asked his friends to make him a car book for his 5th birthday. The children designed different pages and chose the name "SUPER FAST" because likes to run fast.

The cover is red because it is the color of "Lightening McQueen"

Ornaments for the birds

Today the children made edible ornaments for the birds. 

First they chose a natural material they wanted to use.

Second they tied a piece of yarn around it.

Third they painted the item with Crisco. This was sticky business and they learned they only needed a little bit and the birds do too so they don't get sick.

Fourth and last they rolled the item in bird seed or used a cup to pick up the seed and cover the ornament.

The children brought the ornaments outside and tied them on the tree or placed them on a rock or the ground.

Lovely gifts from thoughtful children.
