Where the Wild Things Roam

L.N. was working at a loose part table that included gemstones. He had a new idea that the gems looked like river rocks. That was an easy transition and Caper friends were engrossed in river and sea animals.

Ripples were the cause and effect of gently dropping gems into the water.

I.B.-“The animals are on the sand. It’s sand because the table is yellow!”

Dinosaurs made their way into multiple caves. Hoping the farm animals stayed safe!

“I think these animals can’t bite because they’re inside here.”

“These are the ones I don’t like! “This one, and this one…,” touching each animal as he repeated the same
words.

The Small World drew friends too.

Rounding out our animal kingdom day, friends used fine motor skills to lift animals with tweezers.

"Is it alive?"

When friends arrived to school they were intrigued by what they found on the table!
"Is this a fish or a shark?"
"I think it's a shark because it's fin is bigger than a fish."
"Yeah, but it's a baby shark."
"Is it alive?"
"I think I saw it move! And I can't see its bones."
"Those eyeballs are telling me it's alive because they're open!"
Soon more friends joined in...
"YOU GUYS!!! There's a shark in glass over here and it's REAL!!"
"I think it's alive but it's sleeping."
Conversations and wonderings continued to emerge throughout the entirety of the morning!
Don't spoil the mystery... we will continue to investigate to find out if the shark is in fact alive!

Who’s Print is That?

An invitation was given early this morning…
“How can you use this Playdough to see animal prints?”
Friends enjoyed choosing a creature and looking at the print it made.

Transparencies needed a closeup look!
