Sticking Together & Celebrating Each Other

Every morning we sing, "We stick together, we stick together, we have fun!" This week we've been revisiting what exactly that means. What do Maple friends do to stick together?

"We stick together by all cleaning up together! Teamwork makes the dream work!"

"We stay close to each other on walks so that we are safe."

"We are kind and take care of each other."

 "We share and work together."

"We use our words when we don't like something!"

When conflict occured in the block area today, as it does very regularly in preschool, friends knew just how to solve their problem! "When you took that block I was sad, but now I'm happy."

There is so much importance in talking about and through our feelings, big and small,  in order to solve problems and navigate our world! "Can I give you a hug?"

We got mail from our friend, Nora! We can't wait to see her on Monday and have our whole Maple family back together!

"Wow that is some really good writing!"

The biggest way of all that we stick together is by celebrating our similarities, differences, and achievements!

Today we noticed that M has grown so much in his writing!
"Are you making mail for all of us? Every friend?" -E
"Si." -M
"Wow look at the way you wrote my name! You did such a good job!" -E

A Sticky Situation

We tried to deliver a letter to our Pen Pals at Bristol this morning. With all the bustle of returning to school, it seems our friends forgot to put out their mailbox. Ms. Alyssa will send an email to remind them.

We were also on a mission to see if Castlewood Designs or Lemcke’s
had any boxes for our individual houses.
They both assured us that they would have some in the next few days and would drop them off for us.
Although we did manage to get one back to school today!

“That triangle piece will make an excellent roof! We should keep it!”
“I can see you!” Yep, that’s J. peeking through the other end:)

A. made sure Ms. Gayle was safe walking backwards!
Maple stuck together and made light of this heavy work.

J-“I’m focusing!” She did not want distractions:)

Now that we earned some free time we needed somewhere fun.
It wasn’t our Forest Day but Willow allowed us to share the hill area they were not using.
Yay, we got to roll down the hill AND, to our delight, found a downed Pine tree.
Boy was it bouncy and STICKY!
Please forgive us for the sap on your children’s clothing but it was SO worth it!

Who needs a bounce house?

We Are Special In So Many Ways

We started talking yesterday about what makes us special.
A few noticings...
"I'm special because I'm a good friend."
"I'm special because of my hair."
"I'm special because I can tie really good knots."

Today we checked our selves out in the mirror and looked a little closer to create self portraits.
I love that we are safe with our masks but I also love the small moments when I get to see our friends smiles!

"I am pretty handsome. Look when I make a silly face!" -G

"I need to add my curly hair." -J

"This is me and this is my baby sister." -O

Catching Up & Connecting

Our love an excitement could definitely be heard this morning as we reconnected! We all had SO much to share with our friends! It sounds like the time together was very well spent:)

We created floam cakes, soup, and surprise presents!

"A dinosaur!"

The cooking and baking continued outside with loose materials.
Friends made a feast with macaroni and cheese, salad, rice soup, cake, lemonade, and chicken nuggets.

"Hey E, want to come dig with me?" -G
"Yeah! What do you think we'll find?" -E
"LOOK at this crystal rock I found! I've never found a rock like this in my whole life!" -E
We decided to do some investigating!
"I wish we could see what's inside!" -E
"Maybe it could be a treasure!!!" -A
"How could we crack it?" -A
