Ramps and Droppers

Today during capers friends were excited to see ramps and droppers available at the table!

“It’s going right down and dropping in.”
“This one is going to be really fast!”

“It looks like a dark color, it’s cause it mixed.”
“I’m trying to see what pink and purple make.”
“I just made brown.”

Which ramp do you think is faster?
“I think this side is faster.”
“The Purple is faster.”

“How does it keep on dripping down?”
“It’s on a ramp.”

“It makes purple, it’s a different purple color!”

Attention to Detail

This morning friends started their winter self portraits.T was the first friend to get to work...she also was the last one to finish. As she sat down she examined every detail of herself. She started by drawing her head then her body. From there she added on an incredible amount of detail. She noticed that her hair was different than the last time she created a self portrait. She thought carefully about how to draw each piece of hair as she put her fingers through it, pulling it up in the air. She noticed her teeth, the way her tongue moved, the designs on her clothing and even the tiniest freckles on her face. She observed closely being sure to every mark in the correct place. When it was just about time to clean up T proudly said, "Okay, I think I'm done now!" We can't wait to show off the masterpieces created by T and all of the Maple friends...Stay tuned!

What a beautiful morning!

We could have not asked for a better Forest Day! As we walked outside to begin our adventure, friends exclaimed, "Oh my gosh, it's so warm out here!"

We went right back to one of our favorite climbing trees!

Friends from Maple, Birch, and Willow waited in line patiently for turned to swing from the vine!

"Look at my stick, it's so tall!"

"I found this cool feather! Look! What kind of bird do you think it's from?"

And sometimes you just have to stand on the tallest tree, feeling as if you're on top of the world, singing at the top of your lungs!

Jackets began coming off as we headed back school! Some friends were very creative with how to carry back their jackets! "I'm having a baby!"
