New Year, New Language

This morning we had our first Capers of 2020. We have changed our languages for Capers. Maple Room will be focusing on water,  Birch will focus on wire, Spruce will focus on clay and Magnolia will continue to study paint.
Don't forget to check out what your children experienced in the other rooms!

We posed the question, "How many drops does it take to fill the circle?"

"1, 2, 3..."
 "It looks like the ocean."

"This is taking a lot of drops!"
"Maybe the circle needs to be smaller."
"We figured out that the deepest water gets the most in the dropper."
"I think it's going to take 65 billion drops!"
"It took 56 drops to fill it!"

We also gave our baby dolls a long bubble bath!

Spin Art

Yesterday friends started creating beautiful spin art! We continued our work this morning. Our friends returning from last year were proud to share that they created these paint colors last year.
"We worked really hard to make these paints last year."
"This one is called raspberry."
"Are you going to use hot lava?"

New Invitation

This morning a group of friends went to the collaboratory to do some building! Some worked on structures with friends and others chose to work by independently.

There was a new invitation available for friends to check out once we got back from winter break!

Welcome Back!

We were so excited to be back together this morning and get back to the Forest! Friends had so much to share with each other and us about all of their exciting stay home days! We all missed each other!
When we arrived at the Forest, friends got right back to exploring, climbing and collecting without skipping a beat!

"I think that hand is from someone that is four because its the exact same size as P's!"

"Look at this big rock I found!"

A and I found something really amazing! We're just not quite sure how it happened but look at what is wrapped around that tree!

P-"I wasn't scared when I climbed up there really high!"
G-"I can't get up there."
P- "Let me show you a trick."
