How Many Blocks Tall Are You?

Today friends started working with partners to measure each other with blocks. They decided we would only use a certain size block or at least for now. They discovered the carpet wasn't the best place to stack the blocks so they moved to the tile. Some friends figured out they would much rather lay down to be measured than to stand up. What Kind of Face Can You Make?

Today an invitation to create faces was extended and friends went to work using loose materials and tree cookies.
                                                            "Look at my five eyed guy!"

"He's got an angry face."

"I gave her some cheeks."

"Her eyebrows are at the top. You have to have eyebrows."

"The dead serious face!"

"This is my happy face!"

Lemon Head

We had a colorful morning in the Maple Room! A group of friends created a shade of yellow today. 

"We can just put the paint in the jar because it's already yellow."

"No, we need to make a different shade."

"Yeah, we have to add white."

We had a wonderful selection of names for this color....

"Yeah, I've had that candy before!!"

And the winner is........Lemon head!

We also worked on painting a box to "make it more beautiful". We will be using this to collect items for the We  Share Drive! (An email was sent last week with more information about this.) 

"We haven't been outside in so long..."

It's hard to believe that just last week we were out of school because it was so cold! This morning we took a nice long walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the beautiful weather and get some much needed fresh air. 

"We haven't been outside in so long, I think I forgot what it was like."

"I know that's the American flag, I live there."

"We have one at our school too, in the front."

 "A christmas tree?!"

A Shade of Blue

This morning friends worked to make a shade of blue. Little by little they added paint to the jar.

"I think we need more. More. More."

"Let's add some white."

"We need a drop of black."

"What do you think would happen if we added some yellow?"

This beautiful paint color is called Periwinkle!
