A small group went to the Red Room Atelier today! Some of our class wanted to explore the new materials added to the space, while others chose to revisit the materials that were already there.

Egg Test
Some of our friends tested their theories about eggs. One egg was put in water and the other in vinegar. After sitting for a couple of days we started to notice a change to the egg in vinegar.
"Looks like a balloon."
"It feels like a blob of jelly."
"It's squishy and hard."
"One is white and one is yellow."
"The shell melted."
"All the vinegar went into the egg and changed its color."
"One is bigger and one is smaller."

Rolling, Knocking, Cheering
Can you knock over the tower?? Which ball is best to use?
The tower was built differently every time.
The children wrote their name and wrote how many cans they knocked down.

Dead Tomato Plants
Friends noticed that our garden died over the long weekend! After closer observation, they were relieved that our broccoli, kale, and grass survived.
A few weeks ago the children learned that pulling out the tomato plants was part of putting our garden to sleep for the winter, but we needed to wait for the first frost. Brynn came to school today and said she saw something like snow on her car this morning. So you know what that meant! The frost plus noticing the plants were dead meant it was time to pull out the tomato plants!
We have more work to do but we got off to a great start!
