We’re Building A Zoo

The Zoo lights may be over at the Saint Louis Zoo, but they live on in the Maple Room. We continued to explore our different ideas and come up with a cohesive plan. Our biggest roadblock was “Where will our cots go at nap time?!” We decided that we can condense the zoo down to one section of the classroom. That means we will have to use our small animals rather than ourselves being the animals (most of the time) and friends decided that would be okay.
“We need to arrange the animals so we know what exhibit that they belong in.”
“We need signs.”
“Yeah like big cats, sea creatures, and bugs and things so we know which way to go!”
“And birds because we have a bird exhibit here too, right?!”
“We need more lights off. We may need to come here at night.”
“We need trees!”
“We can make them out of cardboard!”
“I have just the plan! We could draw them then cut them out!”
“This box could be for the elephants because it’s big!”
“There’s 20 animal exhibits so we need 20 boxes.”
We began arranging boxes to prepare for building a Zoo. Some friends cut cardboard for signs and I.B. even started creating food for the animals!

Happy Birthday W!

"W, how are we going to celebrate your birthday today?"
"I just want to play in the blocks!"
After playing in the Collaboratory, that's just what we did! Along with a dance party!

Singing happy birthday to W!
