Ropes & Pulleys

Our knot tying friend Evan let us borrow some of his ropes today!
We of course made another up slide with rope, but  friends also worked together to transport rocks and balls from the bottom to the top of the climbing wall and back down again.
"I have a good plan! Tie the rope here then we can pull it up!"-E
"You guys fill it up then send it up to us!" -N
"We really got this movin' now!" -E
"We've got loads and loads of rocks in there!" -W
"I'm going to help, hold on, I'm on my way up!" -A

Check out the video at the bottom to see the Maple friends in action!

I Just Love That Toad!

Trekking deep down the wet, muddy path, W. said," I'm going into the darkness. Ms. G, the Forest was so dark!' While his friend M. called for him, W, popped out and told us, "I'm just right here. I was just going on adventures in the Forest."\

Deeper yet, we went to what previous friends had dubbed Toad Mountain. Imagine the delight of our class when they discovered a toad with the help of Ms. K.!

Ms. K. joined us in the Forest. She was the first to notice the lone toad.  E.-"Could someone help me down? I have a toad in my hand. I need to save it from the monster." Yes, the Monster again!

Nature Guardian E. was happy to collect the toad for his friends to examine.

Closer Inspections

E.- "I just love that toad!"

After E. released the toad, N. said, "I'm going back to Toad Mountain."
E.- "We won't see where he goes." Ms. A. assured him that he would be happy to find his family:)
E.- "I'm going to watch the hole where I let him go. He must love me! He's not going away.
 Oh, there he goes!"

As if this discovery was not thrilling enough, N. found a slug, friends negotiated obstacles and ran from the ever present Monster, and even took a final puddle jump on our return trip.

These boys took their long stick on a Forest Journey.
It may have had a short life as a train as it chugged by us on the trail:)

A tiny Maple was pointed out by N. as we filed out of the woods today.
We sure stuck together!

Who could resist such a perfect puddle?
