"We should walk to the Nursery"

Yesterday a small group went out to the shed to look for some soil that they could use to re-plant one of our plants in the classroom. They noticed that there wasn't any soil and they couldn't do any planting.

Today, we had a class discussion about where we could find some soil. One friend said that we could go to the store, another friend said we should get it from the hardware store, and another friend suggested that we should walk to the Nursery, so we took a walk to Rolling Ridge Nursery.

We got a guided tour through the greenhouse where the gentleman talked with us about the plants, the roots of plants, pollination and other plant information.

Figuring Out Our Next Steps

Yesterday friends painted a couple different types of materials white. They wanted to see which one would look more like the numbers on the walls in the hallway.
They noticed today, you could still see the wood coming through the paint and the white paint was chipping off of the tile.

We looked at some other materials but the "white cardboard" is what our class chose to use. We will first figure out which numbers will go where, then add the numbers we make to all the spaces that do not have one.

We keep on building!

The building and construction in the Pink Room has not slowed down! In the past week we've had several different bridges, ramps, houses, and cars! Check out our work!

This ramp had a long tunnel for our rolling items to travel through.

It changed as more friends joined in!

Hold your ears! Our building's about to be taken down by a "wrecking ball!"

We've even used shelves to expand on our designs.

All aboard!

"There's Numbers Outside!"

Yesterday some of our pink room friends noticed numbers on the door, when coming in from the playscape.
"There's the number 12!"- TPW
"It's on the outside, what?"- AB
"Where's 13?"- TPW
Today some friends noticed more numbers on the doors outside of the hillside!
"Here's 13 &14."- AB
"There's more numbers."- MM
"It ends at 17!"- AB
While sharing our findings during our meeting a friend said, those numbers are outside. We're looking for the numbers inside our school. After more discussion, friends decided they would like to make numbers for the spaces in our school that's not numbered. Then we can figure out which of those spaces have echoes.

"It's a party!"

Today, a small group went into the light atelier to explore new lights and materials.
When we arrived, we were excited to find our Green Room friends experimenting with light and movement using their new glow sticks. They were happy to share them with us! (Look closely to see the colored lights).

After they left, we began to explore even more.
"These are icicles but they're not cold." -Anna

The light projector had some materials we had never used before as well.

Flashlights were used as spotlights, as well as used to make different size shapes.

"It's bright!" Jayden

"It's getting bigger and bigger!" -Landon

There was shiny material added as well.
"Look! There's so many red spots!" -Anna

And as usual, the exploration turned into a dance party, where we experimented with light, music, and movement all together.
