Forest Friday

 We enjoyed our first forest day! 

Every week friends are filled with excitement as we head down the street to the Forest. 

Why do we love the Forest so much?

As we run in together, many of us holding hands and laughing, we forge into freedom. The Forest is a place for friendship, imagination, risk taking, bravery, fresh air, encouragement and nature. We never know what experiences will transpire as creative minds explore.

We promise to...PARTY!

Now that we have been at school for 9 days, we began a conversation about our Maple expectations and what we promise to do in order to stay safe and have fun at school. 

WE PROMISE TO…

Be kind.

Stick together.

Use walking feet.

Keep your body to yourself.

Show respect.

Listen to each other.

Take care of our materials.

We have really noticed this class enjoying all things art so it makes sense that this small group wanted to make the paper beautiful and full of color before writing! We will add words soon.

 We left our masterpieces to dry and headed outside to meet our friends on the hillside. 

NW said, “It’s a party on the hillside!”

Risky Business

 Today a beautiful story of friendship, risk taking and bravery unfolded at the climbing “Forest Tree”. For years our classes have explored the climbing tree at the corner of the Forest in whatever way that they are most comfortable. Some choose to stay on the outskirts while others have no bounds. Today friends were definitely at various comfort levels as they made their way into the tree. W.A. noticed that S.G. was quite unsure of the adventure. She grabbed his and said c’mon I will help you be brave. They then ventured to another tree close by and tried again and again. Finally, S.G got into the tree and exclaimed, “I am brave!”
