Small Capers!

Small Capers started today! During Capers, friends have the opportunity to explore other rooms. In each room we are exploring different languages, in Maple we are are focusing on light and shadow, in Spruce the focus is photography, and in Birch the focus is construction and deconstruction.
Check out these blogs as well to see the other invitations your child experienced!
"Are those stereos? Do they make music?"
"The CD makes a rainbow from the light."

 "We're building a tower."
"Do you want a rainbow drink?"

"This flower lost all its hair."

"You know what? We've been waiting allll year for it to come out! And you know what? We found a baby one(caterpillar) but it didn't make its way, it didn't make its life."

We also released our butterfly after lunch!
"Bye bye butterfly!"

A New Pet

Friends found a "Mantis" on the playscape today! They wanted to catch him and bring it inside for our class pet. Friends collected sand, sticks and grass for the bottom of the aquarium. We also found out through research that they eat live bugs!
"How are we going to feed it?"
"We might need to let it go so that it can live!"

Nature Inspires Empathy

Friends visited our care space behind the playscape today! Returning Maple friends told our new friends about how we have weeded and planted to care for the space. We noticed how much it changed over the summer!
"Look how tall those flowers are!"

"Is this a weed? We need to pull it!"

We plan to go back and care for our space soon!

After heading back to the playscape friends picked many flowers that we will use tomorrow for our first Small Capers. Tune in tomorrow to find out what Small Capers is:)
